Project Description

Community Engagement Platform is an interactive planning tool designed for Inner Richmond, San Francisco, to make zoning exploration more accessible, visual, and community-driven.

The platform guides residents through a three-step process: first, exploring existing neighborhood conditions through maps, GIS data, amenities, and points of interest; second, proposing future zoning scenarios based on selected priorities; and third, sharing feedback through surveys and spatial map inputs.

By connecting neighborhood data, community preferences, and scenario visualization, the platform transforms rezoning from an abstract policy process into an interactive civic experience. It serves as both a public engagement interface and a prototype for a scalable future scenario engine that can support planning agencies, community organizations, and design studios in developing more transparent and community-informed zoning strategies.
